His mummy was found in he last coffin of solid gold.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a photo that was restaged one year after the tomb was open, to show how it looked on the day Carter and his team made the huge discovery. \u00a0People wanted to peek into the event, since no photos of this quality had been taken. \u00a0The photo remains popular even today!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapofthemonth.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/543px-The_Moment_Carter_Opens_the_Tomb.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-18491 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mapofthemonth.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/543px-The_Moment_Carter_Opens_the_Tomb-212x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"212\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mapofthemonth.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/543px-The_Moment_Carter_Opens_the_Tomb-212x300.jpg 212w, https:\/\/www.mapofthemonth.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/543px-The_Moment_Carter_Opens_the_Tomb-300x424.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mapofthemonth.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/543px-The_Moment_Carter_Opens_the_Tomb-500x707.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.mapofthemonth.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/543px-The_Moment_Carter_Opens_the_Tomb.jpg 543w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 212px) 100vw, 212px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tutankhaman\u2019s tomb was important because researchers learned a lot about the pharaoh and how he and other people lived. \u00a0What a discovery&#8211; the tomb had remained sealed for more than 3,200 years!<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Riches Galore<\/h2>\n<p>It took nine more years, until 1932, to catalog all of the riches found in the tomb. \u00a0There were priceless treasures &#8212; about 5000 pieces! \u00a0The bounty included jewelry, weapons, and clothing for the deceased king. There was also a chariot!
