We, the Newton family, have\u00a0been making classroom activity maps for schools nationwide for a quarter of a century!<\/p>\n

Here at Maps for the Classroom\/ Map of the Month we are celebrating 25 years of providing maps to\u00a0schools nationwide!<\/p>\n

We work in historic Providence, Rhode Island, in this renovated factory.\u00a0It was built in 1898 by The American Emery Wheel Works. They made grinding wheels used during our Providence\u2019s manufacturing boom. Our office has brick walls and exposed beams.\u00a0Look close \u2014 you\u2019ll see a large gold weathervane in the shape of a romping Pegasus!<\/p>\n

Our Approach to Geography!<\/h2>\n

Our approach to teaching geography is simple and effective: students learn by a hands-on approach, by drawing in details and labeling maps. Kids learn geography by being cartographers themselves!<\/p>\n

Maps for the\u00a0Classroom\u00a0offers\u00a0over 80 Hands-on Activity Maps<\/a>, ranging from world maps, to basic maps skills and continents and lots of approaches to the United States. We also have a wide variety of history maps as well as many countries of the world. Each of these large-format Hands-on Activity Maps \u201316\u201d by 20\u201d \u2014 is also offered in digital form, as a\u00a0Step-by-Step CD<\/a>. Each map can be shown in various stages of completion, using either with a computer or projector. Our customers have years of fun with our\u00a0Perpetual Geography Question of the Day calenda<\/a>r. A different geography question every weekday of the year!<\/p>\n
