Most famous are the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea and the English Channel. \u00a0The English Channel is the body of water that is between the continent of EUROPE and these famous British Islands.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">Linking England to the European continent!<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Channel Tunnel, also known as the \u201cChunnel\u201d connects England and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mapofthemonth.com\/site\/products\/europe-map\/\">Europe<\/a><\/strong>: it allows trains to go under the water to France.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Although the idea was thought of as early as 1802, the construction for the tunnel did not start until 1988.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">It did not open until 1994 when completed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">At the English Terminal of Folkestone, a giant horse has been carved into the land of a hillside as an image that can been seen from the station! \u00a0Read more about it <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Folkestone_White_Horse\">HERE<\/a>! \u00a0This is a kind of public art that can be enjoyed by all, and reminds us of old cave carvings and paintings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mapofthemonth.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Folkestone_White_Horse_cropped.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15849 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/mapofthemonth.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Folkestone_White_Horse_cropped.jpg\" alt=\"Folkestone_White_Horse_cropped\" width=\"279\" height=\"201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mapofthemonth.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Folkestone_White_Horse_cropped.jpg 279w, https:\/\/www.mapofthemonth.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Folkestone_White_Horse_cropped-100x72.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.mapofthemonth.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Folkestone_White_Horse_cropped-150x108.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 279px) 100vw, 279px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Red Squirrel of the British Isles<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Unlike the grey squirrels we are familiar with in America, the Red Squirrel is found exclusively in Europe and Asia.
