class=\"s1\"><b><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mount_Everest\">Mount Everest<\/a><\/b> is the tallest mountain in the world and part of the Himalayan Mountain Range.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Everest is <b>29,029 feet high,<\/b> or 8,848 meters.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The boundary that divides the country of China from the country of Nepal runs through the center of Mount Everest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The climate of the Himalayas can be very different from area to area.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In the south, there are tropical areas.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In the highest magnificent peaks, the snow and ice never melt.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Over the centuries, Indian people have traveled from the torrid summer temperatures of the cities to vacation in the cooler areas of the Himalayan foothills.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">THE HIMALAYAS SEEN FROM SPACE!<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is an image of the Himalayas taken by <a href=\"http:\/\/landsat.gsfc.nasa.gov\/\">NASA\u2019s Landsat 7 Satellite<\/a>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It shows the curved\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">shape of this huge mountain range that stretches for 1,500 miles from east to west.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mapofthemonth.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Screen-shot-2016-02-02-at-11.46.55-AM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-15723 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In the widest western section, the width of the range is about 250 miles and in the east, the width is a little over 90 miles.
