Each student\u2019s map will be unique!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Supplies Needed<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a\u00a0pencil<\/li>\n<li>an eraser<\/li>\n<li>a box of colored pencils. (Be sure\u00a0they have blue and green!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As your students are working on the map, along with Jason\u2019s help, they will want to work\u00a0carefully and neatly. Jason never rushes the students, and encourages them to take their\u00a0time to make a map that is made to display!<\/p>\n<p>Remember&#8211; the video can be paused at any time to give students more time to work. It\u00a0is useful for you as a teacher to listen to it first so you can anticipate where you might\u00a0want to pause. You can break up the video and have students work on the map in small\u00a0sections over the course of several days or even weeks of class work!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>1. USA MAP-MAKING WORKSHOP<\/h3>\n<p>Video Duration: 36 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Join our mapmaker Jason Newton in a video workshop that takes your students through\u00a0the steps of our most popular map: USA, Places and Geographic Features. This video\u00a0is based on a workshop that Jason has taught for many years in classrooms around RI and MA. In this video students will be introduced to basic mapping techniques to get\u00a0them up\u00a0and running!
