Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why the name Map of the Month — is this a monthly service?
We are no longer a monthly service. In the early days of our company we offered maps monthly. Many of our customers know us by our old name so we retain it for customer recognition. We are known more frequently as Maps for the Classroom.
  2. Are your maps up to date?
All of our maps are up-to-date. When there is a change in the world, we reprint the map to correct it.
  3. Is there a minimum order of maps?
No. You may order any number of maps, in any combination, at any time of the year. You may order one map for your own reference, or you may order thousands to serve your total school or district. Note: We offer substantial volume discounts.
  4. How do I calculate the price of my maps?
Map of the Month offers volume pricing. You can save as much as 50% off the per item pricing when you meet volume discount levels.
  5. How soon will I get my order?
We usually ship within 2 days of receiving your order. If you are in a big hurry, just let us know-- we'll make every effort to get your order to you ASAP!
  6. How will maps be shipped?
All of our maps are shipped flat, without folds, in a strong, easy-to-handle box. We ship via UPS or Priority Mail. If you have a preference, let us know. Maps can be shipped to your school or to your home.  We are proud that we have had less than a handful of damaged orders in all the years we have been in business! But, should there be a problem with your order, we will replace it immediately.
  7. What kind of paper are the maps printed on?
The paper we print our maps on is sturdy enough to accept colored pencils, which we recommend. The paper holds up well during map work, without tearing.
  8. Is there a Teacher's Guide?
We supply a Teacher's Guide which gives general rules for working with all our maps. Another Guide describes ways to use our Daily World map, which is our blank world map. Also, we usually include a free sample of our completely labeled World map with most orders. This complete World map can be used as a "key" for the blank continent maps. Find out more by viewing going to the Teacher's Place.
  9. Can these maps be laminated?
Because the maps are so beautiful when they are completed, many teachers have the maps laminated so they can be referred to for many years. Many schools display the laminated maps in classrooms and hallways. And students proudly hang them at home. We do not provide lamination service.
  10. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept MasterCard, Visa, checks, money orders. We will also provide net terms to organizations and educational institutions with the receipt of a purchase order and credit approval. At this time we accept only US orders.
  11. How do I submit a product review?
You must be a registered member of our site in order to submit a product review. Once you have logged in, simply navigate to the product you would like to review and you will find a "Review" button in the product description. Click to add your own review. We hope that many teachers and educators will use this feature to share their tips and ideas for using our maps with our learning community.
